Talent is everywhere. Opportunity isn’t.

Future Horizons International builds the mentorship, future-ready skills and pathways that help young people in conflict-, displacement- and poverty-affected communities shape their futures.

Who we serve
Young people affected by conflict, displacement and poverty
Where

Status

Where you are born should not limit you.

A young person can have the ambition, creativity and ability to succeed, yet lack the mentors, networks, skills and opportunities that turn potential into a future. Conflict, displacement, poverty and broken infrastructure widen that gap.

FHI builds the support around young people that helps their ability turn into action, opportunity and, in time, impact for others.

From access to impact.

Each stage builds on the one before it. Graduates come back as mentors and leaders for those who follow.

  1. Access

Access to learning, mentors and networks.

    Mentorship

  2. Capability

Leadership, digital, AI and business skills.

    AI and future skills

  3. Agency

Moving from learning to taking action.

    Entrepreneurship, Demo Day

  4. Opportunity

Links to jobs, further study and new ventures.

    Employment and education pathways

  5. Impact

Graduates become mentors, leaders and opportunity-creators for others.

    Alumni network, cross-country learning

One model, adapted to three contexts.

Each programme is designed around the barriers young people actually face where they live.

Ukraine Palestine Egypt
Map of Europe, North Africa and the Middle East marking where FHI works: Palestine, Ukraine and Egypt. Each marker links to that country below.

Palestine

Designing for access

Initial focus

Built around limits on movement and connectivity, with digital-first delivery that keeps going through disruption.

Ukraine

Designing for disruption

Designed around wartime disruption, displacement, power and internet outages, and the need for learning that works offline.

Egypt

Designing for opportunity

The main challenge is connecting capable young people to real jobs, livelihoods and business opportunities.

Built on experience, not from zero.

AI For Palestine is the early proof point for FHI’s future-skills model, and the starting point for how we measure results and build employment pathways.

Completed

AI For Palestine: Base Phase

10,000participants reached

  • 3 certificates

A pre-establishment pilot operated by Al-Nayzak Organisation. These figures describe that pilot, not FHI’s organisational impact.

In development

AI For Palestine: Advanced Phase

500participants to be selected

  • 4 additional certificates
  • 3-month phase

Designed to test

  • Employment outcomes
  • Income outcomes
  • Skills progression
  • Talent-platform development

Being developed. No outcomes have been reported yet.

We measure what happens next.

Taking part is only the beginning. Every cohort is measured against four shared outcomes, and one measure for each country.

  1. During the programme

    Completion

Whether young people finish, including through disruption.

  2. By the end

    Capability gain

What participants can do that they could not do before.

  3. After graduation

    Transition

Moves into work, study or a new venture.

  4. Longer term

    Multiplier effect

Graduates who go on to mentor, hire or lead others.

In each country

Palestine
Whether young people can keep learning when movement and connectivity are disrupted.
Ukraine
Whether young people can keep learning through displacement and outages.
Egypt
Whether young people move into work, study or a venture, despite job-market and legal-status barriers.

We will publish what we learn, including where programmes do not perform as expected. Our first public impact report will follow once there is enough cohort data.
